Liar and Traitor

George Bush -- not his administration, not his spokesmen, the man himself -- not only lied to us, he lied -- not misspoke -- to members of his own party. Conservative Republicans who told the administration that they would not vote for the Medicare bill (a bloated boondoggle of a senior rip-off, but let's put that aside for a moment) if it cost more than $400 billion were told that it would cost (ta-da!) $395 billion.

Problem is that the administration, including George Bush, knew at the time they said this that it would cost more than $500 billion (at least -- these things have a way of spiraling upwards as all of you well know), and threatened to fire people who informed Congress of this.

Click the links for the reports from the conservatively-biased media. Read 'em yourself. Then tell me how you can still consider voting for a man so ethically bankrupt that he will lie to his own party. I'd really like to know.
