Jack Goldsmith was interviewed on Fresh Air today.

Jack Goldsmith is a deeply conservative Republican. He was legal counsel to the Justice Department under John Ashcroft (a pretty important job, you would assume). He succeeded Alberto Gonzales as White House counsel. He was in the room during the "Ashcroft incident" at the hospital.
