Wheee! BlogApp Works Again!
You'll be seeing more posting here now that BlogApp works again. The app, which I rely on for quick and easy blogging, broke when I moved to Panther (Mac OS X 10.3, the world's best personal operating system BAR NONE), and I foolishly assumed the developer would fix it quickly.Turns out that Apple made some changes to Applescript, which BlogApp is based on, and that required him to do some serious work to fix it up. I guess that took longer than he anticipated, or maybe he has one of those "life" things, but I eventually started looking at other suitors -- and admittedly I found one that's pretty darn close, BlogWorkz.
BlogWorkz is pretty darn good, and only $10. Furthermore, it's not Applescript-based, so it's likely to keep working even when Apple upgrades the OS. Finally, it seems to work well with just about every blogging system out there except LiveJournal (there's already some existing OS X tools for that proprietary system). I will probably end up buying a copy to supplement BlogApp at some point.
But I had already paid my $6 shareware fee for BlogApp, and besides, I just liked it better. Happily, I kept checking Objective Labs' site every coupla weeks and finally this new beta appeared, so you'll be seeing more of me. If you are on a Blogger/Blogspot-based blog, I highly recommend this app -- and at $6, what have you got to lose?
